Description:
RapidSpeech is a very different, free text-to-speech (TTS) program. Instead of using synthetic voices, RapidSpeech converts text to speech/sounds by combining audio clips (MP3). It can be used for e.g. satirical purposes, such as changing the meaning of famous speaches. Or you can use it to combine several MP3's into one large MP3 file (although it was not designed for this specific purpose). RapidSpeech is probably not suitable for general text-to-speech purposes, since that would require a very large set of sound bites. Included are several "audiobanks", that allow you to create your own speeches in the voices of George W. Bush, John F. Kennedy and president Nixon (Kennedy and Bush are separate downloads). Or you can add your own voices. The results can be exported to MP3 (Note: If you place the free tidymp3 program in the RapidSpeech folder, MP3s will be cleaned up and take up less space).
